The mission of the Environmental Training Center (ETC) at the Owens Campus of 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ Technical Community College is to provide applicable classroom training and onsite technical assistance to 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ’s environmental workforce.

Classroom training consists of credit and non-credit 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ for onsite technicians, well drillers, water and wastewater operators as well as sustainability professionals.

Included in the non-credit 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ are courses which prepare operators, onsite technicians and well drillers to successfully complete the state’s licensing examinations. These licenses are required to be employed within the industry. After becoming licensed, the ETC provides on-going continuing education classes, seminars and workshops.

The ETC has also expanded our Sustainability Course offerings  to include: Environmental Sustainability - 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ Sustainability Professional; Stormwater Best Management Practices; Planning for System Sustainability; Sustainable Asset Management; Financial Sustainability, Lead Protection, UST Training and many more.

Students can even continue their coursework toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Water Quality or Environmental Engineering Technology to achieve an in-depth education designed to produce technical experts and future managers for the environmental professional fields.

The Environmental Training Center has aggressively developed its Environmental Technology 91ÊÓƵÎÛÎÛ in water and wastewater to ensure the quality of this vital resource. The Center is now one of the premier training sites on the East Coast for the certification of water and wastewater operators. The College has been recognized internationally as a leader in environmental protection.

The Environmental Training Center believes that operators should train operators; therefore, the majority of our instructors have experience working in water and wastewater facilities. In addition, many of our instructors are nationally and/or regionally acclaimed.
